Pests Amendment Act, No. 18 of 1989
Long title To amend the Agricultural Pests Act, 1983, so as to define or further define certain expressions; to further regulate the delegation of powers and assignment of duties to a person who is not an officer; to extend the powers of the executive officer with regard to imported controlled goods; to oblige users of land to report the presence of red-billed quelea on land; to provide that payment of fees may be required from persons applying for exemption from the provisions of a control measure; to empower the Minister to combat red-billed quelea and to authorize other persons to perform such combating and certain other acts on land; to provide that notice of entry upon land need not be given if the user of the land does not reside upon the land and cannot readily be traced; to extend the powers regarding the recovery of fees and expenses; to create further offences and to increase penalties; and to further provide for the furnishing of evidence; and to provide for matters connected therewith.
