ECOLEX is an information service on environmental law, operated jointly by FAO, IUCN and UNEP and their website contains comprehensive information on international environmental instruments. It has detailed information on international environmental instruments and their applicability to various African countries and regions.
The Charter of the United Nations, in terms of Article 102(1) under Chapter 16 of the Charter of the United Nations, requires that "Every treaty and every international agreement entered into by any Member of the United Nations after the present Charter comes into force shall as soon as possible be registered with the Secretariat and published by it". The United Nations Treaty Collection is housed at http://untreaty.un.org/English/treaty.asp, but access to this site has to be applied for. This site has detailed information on international environmental instruments and their applicability to various African countries and regions.
