OVERVIEW OF OUR ENVIRONMENTAL EMPOWERMENT INITIATIVE

Our Vision

South African environmental legislation that is practical, workable, implemented and complied with, for the benefit of all life forms and their co-existence within South Africa.

Our Mission

The making of appropriate and timeous responses to proposed new legislation and proposed amendments to old legislation, and the proper application of environmental legislation by statutory persons and entities.

Our Objective

Facilitating and coordinating a feedback loop between statutory persons and entities, and interested and affected parties and environmental experts, around the drafting and amendment of environmental original and secondary legislation that goes beyond the mere “publishing for comment” model which currently holds sway.

The development and supply of STAQ Products relevant to statutory persons and entities to ensure they develop the capacity to comply themselves with environmental legislation, along with work-process models for each person and entity who has a statutory power or duty under South African environmental legislation.

Our Progress depends on you

Assist us to facilitate and coordinate a feedback loop by joining our Environmental Watch Mailing List, and letting us bug you for your response, analysis, feedback...

Contact us if you wish to access to a FREE STAQ designed to check whether a statutory body or person is in transgression of a section of environmental law, and if you like it, subscribe to other STAQs to test for statutory transgressions of environmental legislation.  Our Statutory STAQs should make life easier for you if as an official you have been left in the dark about how to ensure you comply with legislation.  They should also make life easier for you if official response to your applications, requests and comments have fallen on stony official ears, ground to a halt or been refused.  We envisage that our Statutory STAQs would, if consistently used, would drive official capacity building and development.
