LegalB: EPA for Africa - Overview of the South African Thinktank

OVERVIEW OF THE EPA FOR AFRICA THINKTANK INITIATIVE

An Environmental Protection Agency for Africa has been in the pipeline for many years but there has been virtually no debate about it. LegalB would like to use the strength of its arm to really get the South African debate properly off the ground and do so while at the same time moving the debate to include wider African interests.

From our legal perspective, our primary concern is to build up our Law of Africa Database, as without this, no EPA for Africa can exist. This is a prerequisite to starting an EPA for Africa.

Other expert perspectives have also no doubt identified other prerequisites to getting an EPA for South Africa and the rest of Africa off the ground, and no doubt some of those experts have, like us, gone a long way in developing the resources to satisfy prerequisites there are.

We would like to hear from those experts with whom we can act as a think-tank in co-ordinating the emergence of an Environmental Protection Agency for Africa
