STEP 9: SUBSCRIBE TO A STAQ FOR A PARTICULAR SECTION OF LEGISLATION

DEMO: Your ninth step in deciding whether your company is in transgression of legislation, is to subscribe to a relevant STAQ.

Our demonstration scenario is that you wish to find out whether your company, as an owner of land that a previous owner polluted, is in transgression of legislation for not cleaning up those pollutants on that land. You have identified the subject category “environment” as most relevant, the National Environmental Management Act, No. 107 of 1998 as the title in that category of most relevant, s28 of that Act as the section most relevant, and you have identified your company (hypothetically) as the potential transgressor, “owner of land, successor in title to”. Further, you have tested our STAQ products, and have decided to use our STAQ method to test for your company’s transgressions of for s28 of Act No 107 of 1998.

To take the ninth step above of subscribing to a STAQ that will test for your or a third party’s transgressions of a section of legislation:

decide which STAQ you want to subscribe to

establish the price of the STAQ (email us or complete a STAQ Price Quotation Request Form)

deposit or transfer that amount into LegalB’s deposit account (making sure the deposit or transfer reflects a unique reference)

email or fax proof of that payment to LegalB, the user name under which you wish to enter the STAQ, and other relevant details

receive our email confirmation of your payment and confirmation that access to the relevant STAQs have been enabled (within 24 hours of clearance of your payment into our deposit account)

Note that your proof of payment for a STAQ must be accompanied by the following details:

Your LegalB user name

The name, number and year of the relevant legislation

The section or sections for which you are subscribing to a STAQ

The “potential transgressor” for whom you wish to test for transgressions (Note: We do not need to know the identity of the person or entity whose transgressions are being tested. We only need to know the “potential transgressor” category into which that person or entity falls (see STEP4 of this User Guide)

Your payment method, source of payment, amount, date and reference

The unique reference you recorded on the deposit slip or transfer form on making that payment

The details of LegalB’s deposit account are available on request. Please contact us if you need them.

As soon as your payment has cleared into our deposit account, LegalB will enable your access to the STAQ or STAQs you have subscribed to. We will confirm this by emailing you confirmation of your payment, and confirmation that access to STAQs you have subscribed to has been enabled under the user name you specified in your payment advice. Thereafter, you or your nominee will be able to access and complete the STAQ or STAQs you have subscribed to on our LegalB client worksite.

For the purpose of going through this User Guide, we assume that you have followed the above instructions, and wish to enter the STAQ to which you have subscribed.
