Ordinance Amendment Act, No. 8 of 1997
Long title To amend the Property Valuation Ordinance, 1993, so as to, amongst other things; ensure consistency between the definitions of ‘‘land’’ and ‘‘owner’’ in the Property Valuation Ordinance, 1993, and the Municipal Ordinance, 1974, and to ensure that these definitions conform to valuations practice in the Province; to further regulate the appointment of valuers by the Premier and local authorities; to extend to three years the period during which a valuation must be completed; to allow metropolitan councils to determine a single valuation date for all local authorities in their area of jurisdiction; to regulate inspections of property for valuation purposes; to allow metropolitan local councils to perform valuations of the site value of land only; to refine the meaning of site value; to remove or amend constitutionally suspect limitations on access to courts of law in the Property Valuation Ordinance, 1993, and generally, to correct technical errors and streamline the valuations process.
